Cereduce is tailoring yeast for high biomass and low ethanol applications

Cereduce AB is a Swedish start-up developing and offering improvement of yeast strains for the fermentation industry. By redirecting the metabolic flux in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we create strains with a significant increase in biomass (and components thereof, such as recombinant protein) yield while at the same time reducing ethanol production to negligible levels. In short, we improve the good and reduce the bad when it comes to industrial yeast expression systems. While providing enzyme, chemical and feed manufacturers with more powerful tools, Cereduce is also developing novel strains of wine yeast capable of keeping alcohol content at reasonable levels without negatively impacting texture and taste.
